Three adventurers break from the group and take off on their own. In true Thai style -- on the back of a pickup truck. From left to right: Me, Dan, Josh.
On the River Kwai (in a Bamboo raft). Our expert guide was pretty cool. Quite the giddy woman. She should never have let Josh navigate and row, though. Bad judgement.

"The Bridge on the River Kwai."

Once again. More foreigners than Thai folks. I think that dude's taking a picture of us.
Another daycare center? Like the other kids in Thailand, this youngin' had a song ready for us too.
Left to right: Josh, Dan. Heading deep, deep into the jungle. They look peaceful now, but Josh is about to freak out when he sees where we're heading.

Taki (Takehito) and I managed to pull ahead, but that just brought us closer to ...
... a dry river bed covered by jungle. The elephant shocked us all by dancing through the rough terrain with absolute ease.
Oh the things you see wandering through the jungle on an elephant.

Left to right: Takehito, Me, Very Talented Elephant Trainer. Our guide managed to get his pet to pick up a lost sandal with its trunk, and then hang on to it until the end of our trek.
Our next stop is a waterfall where the locals relax on Sunday afternoons. Finally more Thai people than tourists.
A cool little cave under the waterfall. No, that isn't two people making out in the back.
